Pedestrian in critical but stable condition after being hit by car in south Sacramento

A pedestrian has been hospitalized after being hit by a car in the Hollywood Park section of the city early Thursday.

Sacramento police responded to the intersection of Fruitridge Road and 24th Street at 5:45 a.m. to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian, the Police Department said.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police said the victim was in critical but stable condition.

No other details were released. Police said they would release more information following their investigation.

Thursday’s collision is the second along Fruitridge Road in 24 hours. The Sacramento Police Department is also seeking a motorist who struck and killed a woman Wednesday morning on Fruitridge Road and the 65th Street Expressway.
