Sacramento County deputy out of hospital after chemical exposure at Sheriff’s Office station
A Sacramento County deputy was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering from a “chemical exposure” at the Sheriff’s Office central station.
The patrol deputy fell ill about 8:45 p.m. after being exposed to a substance while on duty at the station in the 7000 block of 65th Street, said Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Gandhi did not say what the suspected substance was.
The deputy was released from the hospital early Wednesday and is recovering at home, he said.
The Sheriff’s Office central station will re-open as normal to the public Wednesday morning.
