Are Viva supermarkets in Sacramento area open after federal raid?
Three Sacramento-area supermarkets owned by Sacramento City Councilman Sean Loloee have reopened following a raid this week by federal authorities, The Bee confirmed Friday morning.
Viva Supermarkets in North Sacramento, Del Paso Heights and Rancho Cordova were temporally closed for several hours Thursday. Homeland Security Investigations, the IRS criminal investigations and the California Department of Justice conducted an “authorized criminal enforcement activity” at the locations but it’s unclear if it was connected to investigations into Loloee or if any arrests were made, according to previous Sacramento Bee reporting.
Loloee has been accused three times by federal prosecutors since 2009 of not complying with federal minimum wage, overtime compensation, record keeping and child labor laws.
