Officers to hold DUI checkpoint in this Sacramento County city. Here’s when and where

Law enforcement will hold a DUI checkpoint Friday in Folsom, according to the Folsom Police Department’s Facebook.

Officers will be stationed at an undisclosed location during the evening hours in Folsom city limits on Oct. 27.

The checkpoints are chosen based on impaired driving-related crashes. They are designed to promote public safety by removing possibly impaired drivers off the streets, according to the department’s post.

“Folsom Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol,” the department wrote in the post. “Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving.”

Though marijuana is legal, the department reminded everyone that driving under the influence of marijuana is still prohibited.
