Man dies after being hit by car in north Sacramento collision, police say

A man was killed Monday night after he was hit by a car in north Sacramento, the Sacramento Police Department stated.

Officers responded to the collision near Northgate Boulevard and Winterhaven Avenue just before 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive man in the roadway.

Officers immediately provided life-saving measures until Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

Detectives with the department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit responded to the scene and canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence.

“The collision remains under investigation,” the Police Department said.
