Watch Caltrans blast boulders to clear Highway 88 after rockfall

A video shows Caltrans crews demolishing two boulders on Friday that came down overnight on Highway 88 just west of Crystal Springs Road in Alpine County.

Travelers driving through the area Friday morning were expected to experience delays of up to 45 minutes, Caltrans reported.

Caltrans closed the road to remove the boulders.

Traffic was moving again through the area Friday evening after workers blasted the rocks and cleared the stretch of road.
