Man dies in North Sacramento crash Thanksgiving eve, another in critical condition

One man is dead and another injured after the car they were in hit a pole in North Sacramento’s Hagginwood neighborhood Wednesday evening.

A vehicle crashed into a pole near the intersection of Los Robles Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard, said Officer Cody Tapley, a spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers responded just after 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, the night before Thanksgiving, Tapley said. When officers arrived, they located two occupants in the vehicle. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second man was transported to a hospital and is in critical condition.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the man who died.

The department is investigating the collision and is asking witnesses to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471, or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
