Interstate 80 tunnel on-ramp to close on and off for 2 weeks in Placer County
The Douglas Tunnel on-ramp to Interstate 80 will be closed intermittently for two weeks due to electrical maintenance in Roseville, according to a Caltrans District 3 news release.
Caltrans crews will close the tunnel, known as the Harry Crabb Tunnel, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday and continuing through Friday, Dec. 8. The tunnel will not be closed during the weekends.
Drivers looking to merge onto eastbound I-80 from Sunrise Avenue can detour to the Douglas Boulevard on-ramp.
During the two-week maintenance, crews will repair and replace the fire alarm panel, communication system, heat detectors as part of a request submitted by Caltrans’ Sunrise Region Field Maintenance.
Caltrans reminds drivers to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow down in construction areas for the safety of crews and other drivers.
