Northern California missing man located in Napa after leaving home in Shasta County

Missing person found

Authorities say a man who went missing in Shasta County has been found safe in Napa County.

The California Highway Patrol and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office issued a Silver Alert for the 80-year-old Friday morning after he left his home in Cottonwood, a community 15 miles south of Redding along Interstate 5, the night before.

Officials issued the Silver Alert for Shasta, Glenn, Colusa and Yolo counties just before 2 a.m. Friday.

According to the Redding Record-Searchlight, the man was located by Napa County sheriff’s deputies in Yountville “safe and in good health.”
