Popular home decor chain HomeGoods is opening its third store in the Sacramento area.

The retailer is planning to open a store at the Marketplace at Birdcage shopping center, 5975 Birdcage Center Lane in Citrus Heights.

It will occupy a 25,020-square-foot space, according to the shopping plaza’s leasing materials.

Discount clothing retailer Stein Mart previously occupied the spot, The Sacramento Bee reported in 2014.

HomeGoods sells furniture, rugs, kitchenware and other home supplies at discounted prices.

It was unclear as of Monday when the Citrus Heights location will open.

Currently, there are two HomeGoods locations in the Sacramento area.

What is Marketplace at Birdcage?

Marketplace at Birdcage features a 10-block area with more than 400 stores, restaurants and services.

Brand-name stores in the Citrus Heights shopping center include Walmart Neighborhood Market, Best Buy, Old Navy, Michaels, Barnes & Noble, Chuze Fitness, Lowe’s and Target.
