Residents warned to protect pets after ‘hot dogs with fishhooks’ are found in Sacramento area
El Dorado County law enforcement officials are warning El Dorado Hills residents to be vigilant for their pets after food was found stuffed with fishhooks along a street near a neighborhood park.
A member of the public filed a police report Tuesday alerting deputies of “cut-up hot dogs with fishhooks inside of them,” the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.
A deputy responded to the area of Governors Park in El Dorado Hills and attempted to find all the pieces of hot dogs. Pieces were found along Governor Drive.
“Please use caution while out walking with your animals so they do not inadvertently ingest a potentially dangerous item,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
