Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in south Sacramento crash, police say

A man was killed Friday night after he was hit by a car in south Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers responded to the collision around 6:12 p.m. in the Woodbine neighborhood near the intersection of Florin Road and Woodbine Avenue. They found a man with significant injuries who was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, said Sacramento Police spokesman Officer Cody Tapley.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash, Tapley said.

The identity of the deceased man was expected to be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
