Thousands of homes and businesses lose power in Folsom due to outage, SMUD says

Nearly 10,000 SMUD customers lost power Tuesday morning in Folsom as crews worked to address an unplanned outage.

The outage was first reported around 7:15 a.m. The SMUD website showed the outage had been fully resolved as of about 9:15 a.m.

By 8:30 a.m., power had been restored to about 8,000 homes and businesses in Folsom but nearly 2,000 remained without power, according to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District outage webpage.

SMUD crews were evaluating the necessary repairs to restore power.
