Mega Millions lottery ticket from Sacramento wins $1.7 million. Where was it sold?
A Mega Millions ticket sold at one of Sacramento’s best-known lottery retailers won $1.7 million, narrowly missing out on the estimated $893 million jackpot.
The 5-for-5 ticket was sold at Lichine’s Liquor & Deli at 7107 S. Land Park Drive, the California Lottery said after the drawing. The tickets matched five winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing but missed the Mega Ball.
For years, Lichine’s just off Florin Road in the South Land Park neighborhood has been considered a lucky spot for the lottery, boasting many winners and, when the jackpot numbers creep up, often a long line stretching out the doors. The shop sold a winning Powerball ticket worth more than $1.6 million in November 2021, and has sold at least three other multi-million dollar lottery tickets since 2000 — worth $72 million, $15 million and $4.5 million.
Nobody won the grand prize, which will rise to an estimated $977 million, with a cash option of approximately $461 million, for the next drawing Friday, March. 22, the national Mega Millions site said.
The winning numbers were 24, 46, 49, 62 and 66, with a Mega Ball of 7.
Prizes in California are adjusted based on the number of winners and tickets sold.
More than 335,000 other tickets sold in California won prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000 in the drawing, the lottery said.
Mega Millions tickets sold in Florida, Virginia and Texas also matched five numbers to win $1 million.
