Soak up that spring sunshine, Sacramento. Here’s when the rain is expected to return

Soak up that sunshine, Sacramento. After a bout of balmy spring weather, the area is headed for a cool down.

“A weak weather system will bring minor impacts from Valley showers and mountain snow” on Friday through Sunday,” the weather service’s Sacramento office wrote in a Wednesday afternoon post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Expect periods of slick road conditions and mountain chain controls.”

That rain will be accompanied by “breezy to gusty” winds developing Friday, the weather service said in a separate X post on Wednesday.

Wind gusts of up to 20 to 30 mph are expected in the Sacramento Valley, with “higher gusts in the mountains,” the agency said.
