Nugget Market planned for new Sacramento-area shopping center. What we know so far

Another Nugget Market is coming to the Sacramento area as part of Rocklin’s newest shopping center.

On Tuesday, the Rocklin City Council approved plans for the Whitney Ranch Retail project.

According to its application, the development will be at the southwest corner of Whitney Ranch Parkway and University Avenue and will occupy about 18 acres.

The Whitney Ranch Retail plaza is expected to have a total of 10 buildings, with the eastern side anchored by Nugget Market and other shops.

“The western portion of the center will be more highway-commercial oriented, with anticipated single-tenant uses such as a possible gas station, fast food or quick serve restaurants,” according to the plan.

The plans do not name the other retail and restaurants, nor the timeline for construction and business openings.
