A woman died early Wednesday after firefighters rescued her from a burning mobile home in Rancho Cordova.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel were called to the fire at 4:11 a.m. to the Cordovan Mobile Home Estates on the 10000 block of Mills Station Road.

Crews arrived to find the mobile home engulfed on “multiple sides with hoarder conditions inside,” said Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn, a spokesman for Metro Fire.

He said firefighters found a woman inside who was unresponsive. She was taken to a hospital where she died, Wilbourn said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said. Fire logs indicated that arson investigators had been dispatched to the scene.

The identity of the woman is expected to be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after relatives are notified of her death.
