A popular Folsom doughnut shop opened a second location after 35 years in business, fulfilling a key request from its customers.
Baker’s Dozen Donut Shop held its grand opening on Thursday at 2700 E Bidwell St., Suite #300, expanding its foot traffic with a central location for its customers across the Sacramento region.
“We just want to make the customers happy,” longtime employee Sopha Sean told The Sacramento Bee on Monday .
Menu favorites include maple bacon-flavored doughnuts, apple fritters and doughnuts made from croissant-like dough, according to popular food review website Yelp.

According to its Facebook page, Baker’s Dozen Donut Shop has been family-owned and operated since 1989.
The original shop in Folsom, which sits roughly two and half miles from its new site, opened its doors in 1989 at 717 E Bidwell St., Suite #1.
Owner Richard Telp, who took over the business in 2018, was unavailable for comment on Monday morning.
Sean said the menu is made fresh daily and includes breakfast sandwiches, croissants, coffee, juices, and sodas.
Doughnut flavors include chocolate, vanilla, maple and glaze.

On social media, Sacramento-area residents reacted to Baker’s Dozen Donut Shop’s decision to open a second location, sharing anecdotes about their go-to spot.
In a comment on the dessert shop’s post, Facebook user Rachel Rodriguez said, “Congratulations to the only donut shop I trust!!”
“Best doughnuts in town,” Facebook user Cathy Trifiro wrote.
Yelp users rated the original Folsom location an average of 4.7 stars, saying it offered fluffy doughnuts in a clean and friendly atmosphere.
