Motorcyclist dies after crash with minivan in rural part of Placer County, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A motorcyclist died Tuesday after colliding into a minivan making a turn onto a private property near Lincoln in Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers with the CHP’s Auburn office were called about 5:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of Godley Road, a rural area featuring featuring homes.

The minivan with three occupants was driving north on Godley Road and turned left onto a driveway. A motorcyclist headed south on Godley Road struck the minivan’s back, which caused the man to be ejected from his bike, said Officer Yvette Norman, a spokeswoman for the CHP’s Auburn office.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The cause behind the collision is under investigation, but Norman said intoxicated driving was not a factor in the collision.

No one in the minivan suffered any injuries, Norman said.
