76-year-old Sacramento man dies after 3-vehicle crash in Foothill Farms, CHP says
A three-vehicle collision last week killed a man after a pickup truck driver collided into a van, setting off a chain of crashes in Foothill Farms, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers were called about 2:40 p.m. Friday to Elkhorn Boulevard, east of Andrea Boulevard, after a pickup truck driver headed east didn’t see a vehicle in front of him and rear-ended a van, said Officer Justin Fetterly, a spokesman with the CHP’s North Sacramento office.
The van hit a pole and its driver was rushed to a hospital, Fetterly said. The pickup truck driver also then collided into another car, a sedan, that was in front of the van and headed in the same direction as the two vehicles.
Drivers in the pickup truck and sedan suffered no injuries, Fetterly said.
The van’s driver later died Saturday at a hospital. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified him as Sacramento resident Charles Bourassa, 76.
