California state officials are hiring full-time employees to fill top-paying positions in the capital region — from health care to legal work.

State jobs are known for offering competitive benefits and enrollment in the nation’s largest state public pension plan. Many of the following jobs have specific requirements, which are linked.

Sift through some of the state’s highest-paid positions in Sacramento County eligible for telework, available on the CalCareers website and posted between Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Sept. 3.

New California state jobs in Sacramento County

Here are some of the newest California state jobs offering high wages in Sacramento County, according to CalCareers:

Director of in-custody death review | Non-tenured, full-time

  • Department: Board of State and Community Corrections
  • Salary: $13,921 to $15,386 per month

The director is in charge of creating a new state program that reviews deaths in detention facilities.

Duties of the governor-appointed potion include establishing behavioral health standards for detention centers.

A hybrid work schedule is available, according to CalCareers.

Nursing consultant | Limited term, full-time

  • Department: Correctional Health Care Services
  • Salary: $12,365 to $15,481 per month

The consultant oversees nursing services programs in correctional institutions.

The employee also provides program consultations for nursing practices, standards and procedures.

A hybrid work schedule is available with some required in-office attendance, CalCareers states.

Travel with little notice is a “possibility.”

  • Department: Justice
