Driving in Sacramento? These roads are closed due to Farm-to-Fork festival
Calling all foodies! The Farm-to-Fork Street Festival returns to downtown Sacramento this week..
In addition to a live music lineup that includes Andra Day and Hayes Carll & The Band of Heathens, the free two-day festival features vendors showcasing local foods, regional wines and beer as well as cooking demonstrations.
The city of Sacramento plans to close roads in the area due to the event.

When is Farm-to-Fork Street Festival in Sacramento?
The 2024 Farm-to-Fork Street Festival takes place on Friday, Sept. 20, from 4 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where is downtown food festival?
The festival will be held on Capitol Mall between Third Street and Eighth Street in downtown Sacramento.
Which roads will be closed to traffic?
Several road closures are planned to accommodate the Farm-to-Fork Street Festival, city officials wrote in a news release.
Capitol Mall will be closed between Third and Seventh streets starting on Wednesday, Sept 18.
Here’s which stretches will be blocked to traffic and when:
- Capitol Mall from Third to Fifth streets, beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday
- Capitol Mall from Fifth to Seventh streets, beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday
- Fifth Street from N to L streets, beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday
“Residents and visitors planning to attend are encouraged to plan ahead, take alternative transportation and watch for street closures,” the city said.
If you’re planning to drive to the festival, you can use the SacPark system to reserve parking spots in advance. You can also check out local garages and parking lots.
There will be a free bike valet available on Saturday, the city said.
