One dead, one injured in single-vehicle crash near Del Paso Park, Sacramento police say
A driver was killed and another person hospitalized in a single-vehicle crash near the 4200 block of Auburn Boulevard early Sunday morning, Sacramento police said.
The vehicle crashed into a road barrier and police responded to the scene just before 5 a.m, according to spokeswoman Officer Allison Smith.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene despite attempted life-saving measures.
A female adult passenger was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Part of Auburn Boulevard near Del Paso Regional Park was temporarily closed but has since reopened, Smith said.
The Sacramento Police Department’s major collision detectives are investigating the incident, Smith said. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office was expected to release the man’s identity.
