Northern California authorities issued evacuation orders Thursday after flames spread from a recreational vehicle into vegetation.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office ordered residents in part of Frenchtown to leave after a fire began spreading at a moderate rate on Evans Way in Dobbins, Cal Fire and sheriff’s officials said.

Flames consumed four acres in about 10 minutes, prompting the evacuation orders. In less than a hour, firefighters reported the flames had been contained.

Residents in evacuation zone YUB-E089 were asked to leave immediately, but the evacuation order was lifted around 5:30 p.m. Deputies briefly closed Frenchtown-Dobbins and Frenchtown roads, according to Cal Fire.
