‘No Address,’ a movie about homelessness filmed in Sacramento, announces release date
A feature film about homelessness that was shot in California’s capital region has a release date set for the upcoming winter.
“No Address” will be shown nationwide in theaters beginning Feb. 28 after being filmed in Sacramento, where homelessness remains a key issue. The film’s producers announced the release date Thursday, on World Homeless Day.
The drama, inspired by true events, “follows a group of individuals who unexpectedly fall into homelessness. They bond together as an unconventional family, struggling to survive on the streets while warding off a harassing gang, unforgiving community, and local authorities,” according to a news release from Placer County-based Robert Craig Films.
The movie, directed by Julia Verdin, stars actors William Baldwin, Xander Berkeley, Beverly D’Angelo and Ashanti. It was filmed in Sacramento in 2023 in the Land Park and Woodlake neighborhoods.
The feature film is one of five productions being released by Robert Craig Films, along with a documentary, a novelization of the screenplay, soundtrack and interactive study guide.
“This movement has arrived at a critical moment as this crisis becomes more evident across the nation,” said Jennifer Stolo, CEO of Robert Craig Films. “We hope our productions foster more empathetic approaches, helping those experiencing homelessness connect to resources and find peace in their lives.”
Robert Craig Films said it’s donating 50% of the profits to more than 1,000 organizations and churches nationally that are working to combat homelessness.
