Sacramento police seek gunman in North City Farms shooting that left one critically injured

Police tape blocks entrance to a convenience store in San Luis Obispo County.

Police are seeking the gunman who shot and critically injured a man in a Sacramento neighborhood near Curtis Park on Wednesday night.

Sacramento police were called about 6:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting near Wilmington Avenue and 28th Street in the North City Farms section of the city, not far from Franklin Boulevard and Sutterville Road.

Officers found the wounded man who was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition, according to police.

“This remains a very active investigation,” said Officer Anthony Gamble, a police spokesman, in a statement. Little was known, but Gamble said the severity of the man’s wounds in the Wednesday shooting prompted homicide detectives to take on the case.
