Sacramento man arrested in fatal South Natomas stabbing that left one man dead

A Sacramento man has been arrested in a deadly Sunday night stabbing in South Natomas.

Gino Quintero Espinosa, 30, was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of murder in the knife attack, Sacramento police said Tuesday. Espinosa was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail where he is being held without bail. He faces an initial court appearance at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing just after 8 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex on the 2800 block of Gateway Oaks Drive in the Metro Center neighborhood, authorities said. Officers found a man had been stabbed at least once. Emergency responders took the man to a hospital where he died from his wounds.

The man’s identity has not been released by Sacramento County Coroner’s officials pending notification of family.

Investigators Tuesday continue to determine what led to the fatal attack.
