Power restored for thousands after vehicle hit West Sacramento PG&E pole amid storm
A vehicle crash in West Sacramento knocked out power for thousands as heavy rain swept Friday across Northern California.
A vehicle crashed into a Pacific Gas and Electric Co. power pole near Jefferson Boulevard, the West Sacramento Police Department said in a post just before 11 a.m.
Officers closed north and southbound lanes of Jefferson Boulevard in between Marshall and Linden roads. PG&E on its website reported about 2,900 customers in West Sacramento had no electricity as of noon.
By 1:20 p.m., about 260 households and businesses remained without power, according to PG&E.
