Sacramento hosts its 31st annual Thanksgiving Run to Feed the Hungry race. Here’s who won

Thousands took to the pavement Thursday morning for the 31st annual Run to Feed the Hungry in East Sacramento.

Marathon runner CJ Albertson, 31, from Fresno, was first to cross the finish line in the 10K race Thursday morning, clocking in at 29 minutes and 21 seconds, according to available race results.

Run to Feed the Hungry is an annual fundraiser for the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. In the past, Run to Feed the Hungry has seen more than 30,000 runners and walkers. The event is held in Sacramento every Thanksgiving.

Brendan Gregg, 35, of West Sacramento, followed behind Albertson at 29 minutes and 43 seconds. Michael Chambers, from Carmichael, finished the 10K at 30 minutes and 43 seconds.

Nicole Lane, 30, from Rancho Cordova, finished at 34 minutes and 32 seconds in the 10K. Anna McNatt, 19, from West Sacramento, completed the race at 34 minutes and 37 seconds. Jonahmaria Weeks, 34, of West Sacramento, completed the race at 36 minutes and 20 seconds.

In the 5K race, Austin Ramos of Sacramento completed the run in 15 minutes and one second. Ramos, 40, was running on behalf of Sacramento Country Day team. Gillian Meeks, 26, from Davis, completed the 5K with a time of 16 minutes and 15 seconds.

The following runners completed in the top three of the men’s and women’s divisions for Run to Feed the Hungry’s 5K.

Malcolm Richards, 42, of Sacramento, at 15 minutes and 7 seconds

Koby Sperandeo, 21, of Folsom, at 15 minutes and 12 seconds

Danielle Domenichelli, 37, of Sacramento, at 17 minutes and 5 seconds

Kaitlyn Barthell, 26, of Arcadia, Oklahoma, at 17 minutes and 23 seconds

Donations will remain open for Run to Feed the Hungry for three more weeks. Residents can donate at sacramentofoodbank.org.
