Sacramento police arrest knife-wielding woman who allegedly chased officers in midtown
Sacramento police arrested a woman who, they say, chased an officer with a knife before being taken into custody.
The incident happened just before 11 a.m. Sunday near 16th and F streets, Sacramento police said. Officers received calls of a person brandishing a knife near the intersection. When the officers arrived, the person gave chase with the knife before police set up a perimeter and began to negotiate.
Officers used less-lethal force to subdue and arrest the 60-year-old suspect, police officials said. The woman threw a knife at the officers during the incident, but did not hit them.
The suspect faces numerous charges including assault of a police officer on duty and is being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail. She’s expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Sacramento Superior Court.
