Man in hospital after stabbing inside North Highlands Walmart; suspect arrested, another on the run

A man stabbed Saturday in a fight at a North Highlands Walmart is in a hospital and his suspected juvenile attacker was in custody.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies were looking for at least one other suspect, described as a teenage boy, connected to the fight at the Walmart, 4675 Watt Ave. at Wynona Avenue. The stabbing happened just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Sheriff’s Office dispatches reviewed by The Sacramento Bee.

The fight and stabbing appear to have happened in the bicycle section of the store, according to the dispatches. The suspect was detained by Walmart security and was said to have received a small cut on the hand.
