Three people injured, including one person trapped, after 3-vehicle crash in Sacramento County
A three-vehicle collision in an unincorporated area in south Sacramento County caused multiple injuries, including one person trapped inside their car, officials said.
The crash happened Saturday morning on Florin Road near Eagles Nest Road in Sacramento County’s Vineyard area.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn said the crash happened around 7 a.m. and fire units arrived shortly after.
Three vehicles were damaged and one caught fire, but the fire was extinguished, he said. One person was trapped in a car until crews extricated that occupant.
“Three patients have been identified so far,” Wilbourn said. “Three ambulances will be transporting (the patients) with varying degrees of injury. Crews are still working to extricate one patient.”
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation, Wilbourn said.
