Accomplishment: Raised $15,000 to support Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation
Details: Jones and her team raised the money for the Sacramento-based organization’s mission of education, testing and support.
Kudos to: Sacramento New Technology High School
Accomplishment: Received the Chad P. Wick Award for Social Justice
Details: The award from New Tech Network, a school-development organization, recognizes the technology-oriented Sacramento school for its success in closing the achievement gap for underserved students.
Kudos to: Raley’s and their customers
Accomplishment: Raised $100,000 for veterans organization
Details: Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill and Food Source markets donated a nickel every time a shopper used a reusable grocery bag. A total of $100,000 from that fund was donated to Friends of Travis Fisher House, a place where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost when a loved one is getting medical treatment.
