Motorcyclist, 56, who died in crash on Sutter Slough Bridge near Courtland identified

A motorcyclist died Saturday evening after crashing into the side of the Sutter Slough Bridge in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported just before 5:40 p.m. near the bridge, which sits on the border of Sacramento and Yolo counties, and South River Road, CHP spokesperson Officer Mark Leavitt said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened across the Sacramento River from Courtland.

The driver was identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Thomas Jule Flores, 56, of Fairfield.

Leavitt said an investigation into the crash, and whether alcohol or drugs were involved, was ongoing.
