Caltrain officials say service has been restored after a northbound train hit a car stopped on the train tracks minutes after the driver was pulled to safety.
Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann says the train hit the empty vehicle Monday evening.
Ackemann says transit police were responding to a call near the scene of the crash and removed a person from the car before the train struck it.

In a video that captures the incident the deputy can be seen pulling the man out of the car. Seconds later, a Caltrain's horn can be heard as the train barrels down the track.
The deputy is seen graving the driver by the wrist and quickly dragging him away from the car.
Officials say no one was hurt.
