Two women sustain major injuries in Arden Arcade vehicle crash, CHP says

Police tape at crime scene

Two women sustained major injuries Friday afternoon after a vehicle crash in Arden Arcade, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly before 2 p.m. at Alta Arden Expressway near Wright Street, CHP officials said. A man in his 30s was driving a pickup truck westbound and failed to stop at a stop sign.

The truck struck another car with two women inside, said Officer Justin Fetterly, a spokesman for the CHP North Sacramento office. Both were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

The male driver fled the scene on foot, Fetterly said. The man’s truck overturned during the crash and crashed through an apartment complex fence near the intersection, video by KCRA 3 showed.

Fetterly said early Saturday afternoon that the truck driver had not been arrested.
