Roadway fatality

A woman was killed Saturday in Northern California after she was struck by a vehicle after she stepped out of it, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.

A driver called deputies about 9:20 p.m. Saturday to the 15000 block of Willow Glen Road in Brownsville for a woman hit by a vehicle, according to a Tuesday news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

The woman suffered injuries “consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” the news release said. The driver remained on scene as deputies investigated the incident.

The woman was inside the vehicle when she got out and was hit, the news release said.
