Woman dies after golf cart crash near course in Sacramento County, CHP says

Roadway fatality

A woman driving a golf cart Tuesday near a golf course in Sacramento County died after she struck a concrete curb, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The woman drove the vehicle about 2:40 p.m. northbound on Alameda Drive, just south of Rancho Murieta Parkway, said Officer Trent Senter, a spokesperson with the CHP’s East Sacramento office. The area is near the Rancho Murieta Country Club.

For unknown reasons, the woman, described by authorities as elderly, crashed into a concrete curb and a median. The CHP is investigating if the woman suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, or if she suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision, Senter said.

Another woman, a passenger in the golf cart, was not injured, Senter said.

The investigation is ongoing.
