Capitol City tattoo convention returns to Sacramento. When, where & ticket prices
Want to ‘ink-crease’ your tattoo knowledge? The Capitol City Classic Tattoo Convention returns to Sacramento soon.
Attendees can attend seminars, watch live demonstrations and check out hundreds of the “most distinguished and recognized tattoo artists” from around the world, organizers said on the event’s website.

What is the Capitol City Classic Tattoo Convention?
Now in its third year, the Capitol City Classic Tattoo Convention brings together more than 300 tattoo artists from 25-plus countries, according to the convention website.
Every genre of tattooing will be represented, with experts in Japanese, American traditional, fine-line and black-and-grey styles on hand.
Those include star tattoo artists Good Time Charlie, Theo Mindell and Holy Fox, according to the event’s website.
The convention will have live tattooing, seminars, food and contests, according to the site.
Tattoo-related vendors will also be present.
When is Sacramento tattoo convention in 2025? Where?
The Capitol City Classic Tattoo Convention runs Friday, May 30, through Sunday, June 1, at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, 1400 J St. in downtown Sacramento.
The convention center is near Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church and across the street from a 7-Eleven.
The convention takes place 2 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, according to the event website.
What are ticket prices? How much do VIP passes cost?
Ticket prices depend on the day and type of pass, according to the Capitol City Classic Tattoo Convention.
Expect to pay $41.59 for a single-day pass or $102.79 for a three-day pass.
For $143.59, you can get a VIP weekend pass that includes early access to the convention and exclusive merchandise including a limited-edition Capitol City Classic shirt and tote bag.
Children age 12 and under get in free.
However, you must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo under California law.
Where can I park?
There are more than a dozen of parking garages near SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, according the SpotHero site.
As of Tuesday, May 27, all-day parking prices on Friday ranged from $12.75 to $29.87.
Smart parking meters in downtown and midtown Sacramento operate on a tiered rate system, according to the city of Sacramento site. There’s no time limit to park at these meters.
It costs $2 to park for the first hour or two hours depending on the meter, with parking costing an additional $1.50 per hour after that.
Parking rules are enforced in Old Sacramento seven days a week, including holidays, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at all meters and time-limited parking spaces.
For other areas in Sacramento, standard operating hours can range from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. depending on the location.
