R&B and Ribs returns to West Sacramento with DJs, food and drinks. Here’s when

R&B and Ribs is bringing its Sunday party back to the capital region this weekend.

Originating in San Francisco, the event brands itself as “a day party with good food and dope DJs.” The Sacramento edition will take place Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Drake’s: The Barn, 985 Riverfront St. in West Sacramento.

DJs Knowpa Slaps, Shawn Looney, Jehred, Shino Smoke and Genetixx will curate the music, offering a blend of R&B, Reggaeton, Afrobeats, Disco, Funk and more.

“Taking place on select Sundays, we invite the best DJs from all over to come throw down their best R&B-inspired sets,” the event’s website states. “We then invite our chef friends to come cook with us.”

R&B and Ribs first appeared in Sacramento at LowBrau in 2023, according to the website. Events have since been held across the country, including in Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit and New York — and once in Tokyo.

Admission starts at $40, with tickets available on Eventbrite or on the event’s website, rnbandribs.com. The event is 21 and over. Food and drinks from Drake’s Brewing Co. are sold separately.

“These live sets represent a small example of the range of what our R&B-inspired party sounds like,” the website adds. “R&B and Ribs usually takes place on Sunday afternoons, creating the perfect setting for good music and great food.”

Future dates include June 29 in Los Angeles and July 4 and 13 in San Francisco.
