A 1940s-style New York deli is coming to midtown Sacramento. Here’s what to know
A New York-style cafe and deli will be opening its doors in coming months.
The Cappuccino Show will open this fall in midtown, taking over the former Woodard Ficetti Cleaners and Dryers building, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
Here’s what to know about the upcoming Sacramento cafe, inspired by classic 1940s New York coffee houses.
Where will the cafe be located?
The New York Style Deli and cafe will be stationed at 2201 J St. in midtown Sacramento. The shop is located off 22nd Street and near Improv Alley.
The cafe will be located near Capital Stage performing arts theater and across the street from Tapa The World, a Spanish restaurant.
When does the cafe open?
According to the cafe’s Instagram The Cappuccino Show is slated to open in “Fall 2025.”
The owners said they expect to have the business up and ready in five to six months and hope to open in November or December, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
What is the Cappuccino Show?
Business partners Juanes Ramazzini and Freddy Cohan are behind the project, which they describe as a 1940s New York-style cafe-meets-deli.
Expect sspecialty cappuccinos, house-baked pastries, fresh salads and stacked paninis on homemade bread, they told the Sacramento Business Journal.
“We believe the right environment — one full of energy, flavor, and connection — can spark incredible things,” the pair wrote on Instagram. “Our dream is to create a modern-day version of that iconic coffee house right here in the heart of our city.”
What’s will the cafe be like?
Think vintage glamour with cozy touches: lounge seating, custom tables in “cozy booths” and a wall lined with black-and-white photography.
They’re also planning a charming outdoor patio for al fresco sipping and snacking.
The deli menu will include what they call “legendary pastrami” alongside roast beef, corned beef, turkey, and chicken sandwiches — plus refreshing salads and fresh-baked desserts.
“Everything is handcrafted with love, tradition and taste,” the owners wrote on Instagram.
