See fan-favorite Folsom Pro Rodeo return with heart and horses
By Daniel Heuer
The sun set and the lights flickered on as the Folsom Pro Rodeo welcomed spectators Thursday to its 2025 opening night.
A sellout crowd of all ages gathered to watch bull riding, bareback bronc riding, team roping and more.
“I feel like a lot of people come back with the same ‘heart posture,’” said spectator Joey Kushch. “I hope this continues to be a more generational thing, where people bring their kids here and really understand there is community.”
While Kushch has attended for three years, others were experiencing the rodeo for the first time. Penny Kocal said she was “really looking forward to the experience.”
The Pro Rodeo, held for more than 60 years, will continue through Saturday night at the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena in Folsom Lions City Park. Tickets for Friday night are sold out, but some remain for Saturday.
