A grass fire that broke out Thursday afternoon on the eastern outskirts of Woodland burned 86 acres before being contained, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged, the Woodland Fire Department said in a news release on social media updated just after 4:30 p.m. Fire officials said the fire was confirmed to have been caused by a harvester working in a wheat field.

County Road 102 was reopened after being closed both ways from East Beamer to County Road 18C for roughly three hours, the release said.

“Crews are doing a great job keeping the fire from jumping into any neighboring fields,” the release said of the firefighters’ effort.
