A man was found dead early Thursday morning inside a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound at the site of a crash in Sacramento’s William Land Park.

Sacramento Fire Department responders called police to the 1200 block of 13th Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. for a reported crash, where officers found a man in a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound, authorities said.

The vehicle the man was found in had crashed into a tree and was the only vehicle involved in the crash, said Officer Allison Smith, a spokesperson for the department.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities will notify the family before the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office releases his identity.
