Planning a dinner date in the Sacramento area?

In early September, OpenTable released the latest edition of its monthly Diners’ Choice rankings for the Sacramento Valley.

The online reservation platform highlighted the local restaurants with the most bookings — and the best reviews — in August, focusing on popular eateries in Sacramento and the surrounding area.

OpenTable said it analyzes nearly 500,000 new global diner reviews each month and sorts the results by location to “help you discover new favorite restaurants.”

“It’s a great partnership: you reserve, eat and review,” OpenTable said. “We listen ... and deliver the results for all to benefit.”

Here’s which local restaurants had the most reservations:

Most booked restaurants in Sacramento? Fleming’s Steakhouse

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Roseville

  • Location: 1101 Galleria Blvd. in Roseville
  • Price: $30 and under
  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Part of a popular chain of high-end steakhouses, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in Roseville serves up “prime steak, storied wines and stellar service,” the restaurant said on its website.

The restaurant near Westfield Galleria at Roseville had an average rating of 4.6 stars out of five as of Monday, Sept. 15.

In a review, OpenTable user Akin of San Francisco praised the eatery’s “delicious food,” calling it perfectly cooked and full of flavor!”

“The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the busers are absolutely awesome,” the reviewer wrote.

Midtown bistro’s patio boasts fireplace, waterfalls

Paragary’s

  • Location: 1401 28th St. in Sacramento
  • Price: $31 to $50
  • Hours: 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday through Thursday; 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

In the heart of midtown Sacramento, Paragary’s offers “delicious seasonal cuisine in a beautiful setting,” the restaurant said on its website.

OpenTable said the restaurant, which had an average rating of 4.6 stars, features a “relaxed, timeless environment that lets the food and drinks take center stage.”

“The light and airy interior opens up to the renowned dining patio that features waterfalls, 60 year-old olive trees and a large fireplace,” OpenTable said.

OpenTable reiewer Paul of Sacramento said Paragary’s offers an “excellent dining experience ... along with an excellent bar!”

Fixins Soul Kitchen serves up authentic soul food

  • Locations: 3428 Third Ave. in Sacramento
  • Price: $30 and under
  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Fixins Soul Food celebrates the “history and traditions of African American culture” with authentic cuisine and friendly service in Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood, the restaurant said on its website.

The full-service soul food restaurant had an average rating of 4.6 stars on OpenTable.

“Everything was great,” VIP OpenTable user Scharmela of Sacramento wrote in a review. “We couldn’t eat it all, but ate as much as we could!”

Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chao among most popular in Roseville

Part of an international chain of restaurants, Fogo de Chao “elevates the centuries-old culinary art of churrasco — roasting high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame — into a cultural dining experience of discovery,” OpenTable says.

The Brazilian steakhouse is across from the Westfield Galleria.

Fogo de Chao’s Roseville location had an average OpenTable rating of four stars.

“We had a great experience,” VIP OpenTable reviewer Andrea of Sacramento wrote. “The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

Zocalo locations in Roseville, Sacramento make the list

Two Zocalo locations made OpenTable’s list of the most-booked restaurants in the Sacramento area.

Zocalo Roseville is near the Fountains at Roseville outdoor shopping mall, while Zocalo Midtown is at the intersection of Capitol Avenue and 18th Street in midtown Sacramento.

OpenTable says the restaurants are known for “fine Mexican cuisine, happy hour and craft cocktails.

“Zocalo specializes in genuine hospitality, fresh regional Mexican food and a commitment to customer service that are designed to transform the ordinary act of eating into an extraordinary and memorable experience,” restaurant representatives said.

Zocalo’s midtown Sacramento eatery had an average OpenTable rating of 4.6 stars, while its Roseville restaurant had a rating of 4.7 stars.

“You can’t beat the consistency of the excellent food and service,” OpenTable user John of San Francisco said of Zocalo Roseville. “The front desk staff are always friendly and customer focused. The servers are efficient and professional.”

OpenTable reviewer Bel of Sacramento praised the Roseville restaurant’s great food, reasonable prices and “lively environment,” noting that the “large patio seating allows for fun people watching.”

Scott’s Seafood on the River has ‘very beautiful’ views

Scott’s Seafood on the River serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner against the dramatic backdrop of the nearby Sacramento River.

“The gorgeous dining room affords everyone a view of the river,” restaurant representatives said on OpenTable.

Scott’s Seafood on the River had an average OpenTable rating of 4.6 stars.

“We had excellent service with superb food in a very beautiful setting overlooking the river,” OpenTable user Mutlu of San Francisco wrote in a review. “We will certainly go back there.”

Rocklin restaurant has comfort food, cocktails

Bennett’s Westside Grill in the Blue Oaks Town Center is known for its happy hour and hospitality, according to OpenTable.

“Enjoy chef-crafted comfort food, handcrafted cocktails and a curated wine list — all served in a warm and inviting setting perfect for any occasion,” OpenTable said.

The Rocklin restaurant had an average 4.6-star rating on OpenTable.

“It is always a pleasure to dine at Bennett’s Westside Grill,” VIP reviewer Carol of Sacramento wrote on OpenTable.com. “The service is great and the staff are always friendly..”

Downtown Sacrament restaurant serves up farm-to-fork cusine

  • Price: $31 to $50
  • Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Ella Dining Room and Bar is in downtown Sacramento near the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.

“Ella offers New American, farm-to-fork cuisine for lunch and dinner,” OpenTable says, including seafood, steaks, pasta, fresh oysters and caviar service.”

OpenTable users gave the restaurant an average rating of 4.8 stars.

“The food and flavor was excellent,” OpenTable reviewer Julio J. of San Diego wrote. “We are definitely coming back.”

  • Price: $30 and under

Market Tavern near the Lincoln Center Shops shines thanks to its contemporary American food and its casual dining atmosphere, according to OpenTable

Market Tavern features farm-fresh ingredients across all menu items from our wood-fired pizzas, all natural pork chops and steak, and signature meatballs,” restaurant representatives said.

On average, the Stockton restaurant had a 4.8-star rating on OpenTable.

OpenTable reviewer Paul of San Francisco, who visited the restaurant with his wife for their anniversary, called the food “outstanding.”

“(The) drinks were very good and our server was fantastic,” he wrote. “We had a wonderful evening!”
