Best pumpkin patches in the Sacramento area? Yelp reviewers love these 5 spots
Fall is upon us, which mean lots of spooky season activities ranging from music festivals and Oktoberfest to haunted houses and outdoor movie showings.
Throughout the Sacramento area, pumpkin patches offer the chance to pick out the perfect pumpkin, plus hay rides, corn mazes and more.
According to popular review website Yelp, a few Sacramento-area pumpkin patches rank higher than the rest for affordability and family-friendly fun.

What makes Perry’s Pumpkin Farm in Sacramento a fan favorite?
Perry’s Pumpkin Farm, 3201 El Centro Road in Sacramento, has a large selection of pumpkins from classic orange to spooky white.
The Sacramento farm features family-friendly activities such as a hay ride and a free corn maze for children.
Yelp reviewers gave the farm an average rating of 4.6 stars out of five.
In her review, Yelp user Melissa S. of San Francisco called Perry’s Pumpkin Farm “super cute and very affordable.”
“My friends (and) I have been going here for about two years now (and) we love it,” Elite Yelp reviewer Nancy L. of San Jose wrote. “The family who owns it is so sweet! There are a ton of pumpkins to choose from, all moderately priced.”
Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch has petting zoo, pony rides
Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Trees, 23300 Country Road in Woodland, has been operating since 1982.
The farm features free parking and free entrance to the pumpkin patch, according to its website.
In addition to a free playzone, activities for children at Bobby Dazzler’s include a two-acre corn maze, a petting zoo, pony rides and a cow train. All cost less than $10.
The Woodland pumpkin patch has an average rating of 4.3 stars.
Elite Yelp reviewer Alma S. of Roseville praised the farm’s free play area for kids and friendly service.
“What stands out is the friendliness and efforts to offer help from the staff,” the Yelp reviewer wrote. “The feel is much more hospitable versus just wanting to be a moneymaker. The group that handles the pony rides is also great with our kiddo.”
Yelp user Mara L. of Vacaville said the farm is “amazing fun,” adding that “the cow train is by far the best thing to do.”
“(I) loved the animals and the maze was fun but challenging,” the Yelp reviewer wrote.
Pig races, food stands at Dave’s Pumpkin Patch
Dave’s Pumpkin Patch at Vierra Farms, 3010 Burrows Ave. in West Sacramento, stands out thanks to its many family-friendly fall activities, Yelp reviewers said.
The farm features corn mazes, hot apple cider donuts, pig races and princess and prince shows.
Tickets to Dave’s pumpkin patch start at $12 on weekdays and increase to $20 during the weekend. Additional passes and activities are available for $10 to $25.
Yelp reviewers gave the farm an average rating of 2.9 stars.
“We did the pillow bounce,” Elite Yelp reviewer Chaulzy S. of Sacramento wrote. “The small hay maze, the pony ride (cost extra). The people running the ponies are the best.”
Yelp reviewer Sahar N. of San Francisco called Dave’s Pumpkin Patch at Vierra Farms a “pumpkin patch on steroids.”
“(There’s) lots to choose from and you can also hit the corn maze, hay ride, meet the ponies, enjoy food stands, and shop at the fresh produce market,” the Yelp reviewer wrote. “(I) highly suggest the apple cider donuts — made super fresh and deliciously warm!”
What makes Fog Willow Farms in Sacramento stand out?
Fog Willow Farms, 11011 Cecatra Drive in Wilton, offers more than 50 farm animals, unlimited hayrides, barnyard speedway and barbeque on the weekends.
Tickets are $12 for ages 3 and up.
Yelp reviewers gave the farm an average rating of 3.9 stars.
“Such a fun spot! Super clean and lots of animals to see and hang out with,” Elite Yelp reviewer Ahris K. of Elk Grove wrote. “Definitely a great place to stop by. The pig race is a big bonus too!”
“We really liked this pumpkin patch,” Yelp user Durae J. of Oakley wrote in a review. “It was big and laid out nicely so everyone isn’t crammed in one space. Parking is free but you may have to walk a little to get to the entrance.”
Nick and Ray’s Pumpkin Patch has hay rides, haunted mine
Nick and Ray’s Pumpkin Patch, 3845 El Centro Road in Sacramento, is open Tuesday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Nov. 2.
Nick and Ray’s Pumpkin Patch, which has been operating since 2000, and offers a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, hay rides, haunted gold mine and a corn maze, according to the farm’s website.
Admission is $12 and comes with access to more than a dozen attractions including a haunted barn, kiddie cars and milo maze.
VIP tickets, which cost $24 apiece, includes unlimited train rides, cow cruiser rides and rides on the giant slide.
The farm had a average Yelp rating of five stars.
Yelp reviewer Jeannette S. of Sacramento called the farm a “great little pumpkin patch, with an opportunity for your kiddos to pick a pumpkin straight from the field.”
The Yelp user also praised the farm’s “convenient location, with a little of everything at a reasonable price.”
“This place was perfect for our toddler and baby,” Yelp reviewer Alba M. of Tampa, Florida, wrote. “You can roam around the pumpkin patch, there’s a small maze my 2-year-old was able to figure out on his own. There’s spring riders and corn pits for them to play in. (The) staff is super friendly and amazing.”
