NBA basketball isn’t far down the road, as the Sacramento Kings prepare for another season of buckets band victory beams.

Westfield Galleria at Roseville, 1151 Galleria Blvd., is hosting its third annual Kings event, “Tip-Off the Season” featuring a meet-and-greet photo opportunity with Kings third-year guard out of Alabama, Keon Ellis.

The event is free and open to the public from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 19. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to get the full experience.

“As we kick off another thrilling Sacramento Kings season, we’re excited to welcome fans back to Westfield Galleria at Roseville for a celebration that brings the community together,” Westfield Galleria senior general manager Jeff Richardson said. “This partnership with the Kings continues to be a perfect match as it combines entertainment, shopping, and shared pride for Sacramento into one dynamic event. It’s especially meaningful as we mark the Westfield Galleria at Roseville’s 25th anniversary this year.”

On-site joining Ellis will be Kings mascot, Slamson, offering photo opportunities and energy.

Kings Dance Crew will also provide entertainment with signature dance moves, showcasing team spirit and Sacramento pride.

Kings dancers and other entertainment — such as a dance-off and a pushup challenge with Slamson — will take place from 2-3 p.m., according to a team news release.

There will be photo chances with Ellis from 3-4 p.m. No autographs are allowed.

The event will be emceed by radio personalities Katie Wakeup Call from 106.5 FM The End and local sports radio host Damien “D-Lo” Barling from ESPN 1320.

“I love this event,” said Barling, who also emceed the Westfield Galleria event last year. “Kings are the best in the league, and they turn out every year for this. I can’t wait to see what Doug Christie can do with this group in his first full year as head coach.”

Various shopping mall retailers will offer giveaways at their pop-ups.

Kings preseason games begin when they host the Toronto Raptors, 7 p.m. Wednesday at Golden 1 Center.

The regular season begins Oct. 22 on the road against the Phoenix Suns, and the team’s home opener is Oct. 24 against the Utah Jazz.
