21-year-old victim identified in deadly shooting in Meadowview neighborhood

A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood late Thursday and police are now investigating the deadly shooting.

Officers were called at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the 2400 block of Meadowview Road, where a man had been shot at least once, said Sacramento Police Department officials. Officers treated the man until Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sacramento homicide detectives and crime scene investigators took over the investigation, but department officials had no information on a possible suspect.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Matthew Jhameil Anderson of Sacramento.
