Off-duty Northern California corrections officer on leave after DUI arrest
A Northern California correctional officer was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence and placed on paid administrative leave, authorities said.
Crystal Gordy, an off-duty corrections officer with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested Saturday in the Quincy area following a traffic stop.
A sheriff’s deputy who pulled Gordy over suspected she had been driving under the influence before and during the stop, officials said. After identifying her as a Plumas County sheriff’s corrections officer, the deputy requested the California Highway Patrol respond to investigate. CHP officers arrested Gordy shortly afterward.
“The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office holds all employees to the highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement on the incident released Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is conducting an internal investigation in accordance with county and department policy, deputies said in a statement.
