In 2025, The Sacramento Bee published over 2,800 videos.

Many of those videos were created by The Bee’s visual journalists and video producers, who spent 2025 documenting everything Sacramento — from sports, to crime, to the Capitol and everything in between.

Other videos were provided by sources or government figures, came from our publishing partners, sibling newsrooms and wire sources, or were filmed by our reporters.

This year, The Bee’s top videos reflected some of our biggest stories, including coverage of a helicopter crash on Highway 50, a mass shooting in Stockton and an immigration raid in south Sacramento. Coverage of Gov. Gavin Newsom and his policies also struck a chord with our readers this year including footage of his former chief of staff leaving the courthouse after federal charges.

Here’s a look at the Bee’s most watched videos of 2025:

1. Listen to Gavin Newsom, Charlie Kirk talk about trans athletes in girls sports

2. See California state workers protest Gavin Newsom’s return-to-office order

3. See drone video of Stockton building where 15 people were shot at child’s party

4. Video: Coast Guard suspends search of in deadly Lake Tahoe boat capsizing

5. Watch former Newsom aide Dana Williamson leave courthouse after federal charges

6. Hear highlights of Gov. Newsom’s budget plan and dealing with ‘Trump Slump’

7. See I-80 billboard blaming Newsom return-to-office policy for traffic jams
